He is skilled in directing complex projects and leading project teams in achieving revenue, productivity, and quality improvements through well-managed, on-time projects. Kurt is adept in providing quality business solutions, enhancing operational efficiency, streamlining workflow processes, and implementing process improvements.

Kurt spent 28 years working for Reed Elsevier / LexisNexis, a global 500 company, and covered all aspects of IT as a part of their executive management team. Trust is a core GCN value and Kurt exudes trust as he has decades of experience of sourcing, evaluating, and implementing IT solutions. Kurt totally understands the need to find an IT solution that is the right strategic fit and that strategic fit has to encompass not only the cost but full life cycle management, performance, training, etc.

One of Kurt’s last roles prior to joining GCN was to reinstitute the company business continuity plan for all sites globally. This included writing recovery plans, identifying proper leads and key staff, and testing of plans with staged events. This role gave Kurt an immense appreciation for the fact that disaster recovery is not just equipment and systems – that’s actually the easier part – it’s about people and their daily functions. Kurt became a certified Business Continuity Professional in 2012.

In prior roles, Kurt has managed a staff of 125, ran a call center (million calls annually), participated in building a data center, project managed a $500M / 4,000+ milestone comprehensive program, managed an extensive global network and lead a global data center consolidation planning effort to mention a few specific items. Although Kurt can easily handle large complex programs of work, he is also known for rolling up his sleeves and coming alongside those doing the work. As one of Kurt’s staff wrote: “I was absolutely amazed at Kurt’s innate ability to sort through complex issues (technical or otherwise) and distill these issues into definable action items that resulted in proven and documentable results. Many times you read in a person’s profile that they are ‘results oriented.’ Well……I can attest to that fact that Kurt is truly results oriented.”

Kurt is also a certified John Maxwell coach which he pursued in his relentless quest to hone his leadership skills. Kurt has always taken time to mentor and coach those around him as one way to pay forward all the inputs he received himself. One of his favorite sayings of John Maxwell is that “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” You can read more about John Maxwell at

As hard as he worked his career, Kurt’s other passion is spending time with his wife and children. Together, he and his wife have 9 children and 3 grandchildren. Kurt also leads his church’s men’s group, where many of the group are working to resolve decades-long addiction issues.

Kurt is a military veteran, having served honorably in the Air Force Reserves.
