With sponsorships from GCN, UPS and Walmart, the 100 Black Men of South Florida conducted their 25th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on Saturday, November 23, 2013. With help from over 100 volunteers, we were able to feed over 700 economically disadvantaged families in South Florida. Aside from the sponsorship, GCN team members and their families also volunteered their time to help package the “baskets” for delivery.
“Being both an officer of the 100 Black Men of South Florida and an employee of GCN, I can honestly say both share the same philanthropic and core values when it comes to serving the South Florida community; particularly those who are less fortunate or in need,” says Bobby Hall, GCN Strategic Accounts Manager and Chairman of the 100 BMSF Thanksgiving Food Drive. “I am proud to say that I am a part of both organizations.”
“After providing meals for tens of thousands, since the inception of the Thanksgiving Food Drive, the 100 BMSF strives to do even more. Based on the current economic situation, the 100 is excited about the endless possibilities of providing meals for those in need and somehow helping them to have a Happy Thanksgiving,” states Jonathan L Dotson, VP-Operations for the 100 Black Men of South Florida.
