The 100 Black Men of South Florida celebrated their annual Christmas Shopping Spree on Saturday, December 8, 2012. The purpose of the Christmas Shopping Spree is allow under served kids who otherwise wouldn’t have a Christmas a chance to celebrate the Holiday.
There were over 150 participants, each kid was allotted $100 to spend on gifts for themselves and their families.
Last year I trained and competed in three Triathlons for charity.
This year, I have agreed to “Dance” yes, Dance for charity. When I was approached to be a candidate supporting the George Snow Scholarship Fund, I was concerned to think that I would turn down a great opportunity to raise money for charity because of my fear of ballroom dancing, or dancing in general.
I have always felt uncomfortable on the dance floor, and did not want to be seen doing something that I felt uncomfortable doing. Boca Raton’s annual Ballroom Battle is one of the most popular charity events of the summer. The event is a spinoff of the show
With Sponsorships from GCN, UPS and Walmart the 100 Black Men of South Florida conducted their 25th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on Saturday, November 23, 2013. With help from over 100 volunteers, we were able to feed over 700 economically disadvantaged families in South Florida. Aside from the sponsorship, GCN team members and their families also volunteered their time to help package the “baskets” for delivery.

The 13th Annual Florence Fuller Child Development Centers’ (FFCDC) Men with Caring Hearts Awards Luncheon honored 21 unique individuals from various Palm Beach and Broward Country non-profit organizations.
Global Communicaton Networks was again a proud sponsor of Boca’s Ballroom Battles put on by the George Snow Scholarship Fund. S. Chris Palermo, Founder and CEO of GCN along with his wife Yvette Palermo were Co-Chairs of this years event. So far this year has been a great success for the GSSF as they have raised a little over $750,000 in 2014.
This year Boca’s Ballroom Battles had Chris Holcomb, a quadriplegic dancing in the competition with professional dancer Sayra Ramirez. Their routine was incredible and inspiring. Following their routine an amazing thing happened, one of the people in the crowd donated $5,000 toward a new scholarship Fund for the disabled.
In mid-March, Telecom for Change–an organization of telecom agents and carriers–held its annual gcncharitygolftelecomforchangefundraiser in Las Vegas. This year’s event included a lunch, dinner, drinks, auction, and golf tournament. More importantly, it raised money for Safe Nest, which offers shelter, advocacy, counseling, and prevention to people who have experienced domestic violence.
