A gaming company in the process of rolling out their new online PC games needed to reach PC gamers in Europe, the Middle East, USA, Canada and South America. One of their primary goals was to ensure minimal latency to their end users–a critical component of a successful rollout.
GCN reached out to dozens of colocation and network providers on behalf of the gaming company. The goal was to develop a cost-effective solution that met the client’s needs as they pertained to geographic reach, minimal latency, and end user demographics. GCN was able to use just two colocation providers to install secure cabinets in Germany, Turkey, London, Miami, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Dallas and Seattle. In addition, they were able to manage and install all the equipment, bandwidth and hardware monitoring needed to bring the applications online.
GCN’s Project Management team handled all the logistics necessary to ship and install over 200 pieces of equipment worldwide. Simultaneously, they oversaw the installation of the colocation space, power, and bandwidth needed to support the applications. All this was done ahead of schedule and with minimal customer input, allowing the client to spend more time working on fine tuning their gaming platform versus having to coordinate installations. Moreover, the client saved weeks of research time by letting GCN to do all the detailed work of finding the right space at the right price while delivering a solution that was 30% less than their average current footprints.
